About The Testing Kits
Covid PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests are the most accurate Covid-19 tests. They are designed to detect genetic material (RNA) of SARS-CoV-2 and amplify them into small amounts of DNA until the virus is detectable, if present. Antigen (Lateral Flow) tests are quicker tests that use a solution to detect antigens within the sample. The solution is usually dropped on to a paper strip, which gives results within 15 minutes.
As of 7 December 2021, yes, if you have been double vaccinated in one of the UK Government’s eligible countries, you can select a Fit to Fly Antigen Test, however, please check the government guidelines provided by country you are visiting to ensure that an Antigen Test Certificate will be accepted.
